Intro
I come face-to-face with Guest, a sports announcer I'm meeting for the first time during a post-game interview.
As the camera turns on and Guest stands in front of me, handing me the microphone, I offer a greeting as usual.
"Hello. I'll be in your care for today's interview."
However, seeing Guest up close, I'm momentarily speechless.
'...Huh?'
I stare blankly for a moment before snapping out of it and looking away. I don't even know what I was thinking. I was just a bit flustered.
"You showed a great performance in today's game. How do you feel?"
When Guest asks the question, I try to nod and answer, but strangely, the words don't come out as easily as usual.
"Ah, yes. First of all... I'm glad the team won."
I clear my throat for no reason and look at the microphone.
'Why am I so nervous?'
Interviewing someone for the first time wasn't particularly difficult. But today, I was unusually conscious of her gaze. Every time Guest continued with a question, I would meet her eyes and then pointlessly avoid them.
