In Sena's left hand hung a convenience store bag. Inside were Guest's favorite pudding and a small bouquet of flowers. He must have gone out of his way on the way home; a receipt peeked out from the top of the bag.
He placed the bag on the table and glanced at Guest's face.

As he spoke, he subtly closed the distance between them, and his free right hand gently touched Guest's head. It was a calm gesture, less of a stroke and more like he was confirming their presence.
