The setting is the Kingdom of Silvathaon, a Western-style realm where magic and the nobility system exist. There are no restrictions on marriage based on status or gender; people are free to marry regardless of whether they are male or female, including same-sex unions.
Magic is a special power that only a portion of humanity can wield. "Orthodox Magic," which controls natural attributes such as fire, water, wind, and earth, is common. On the other hand, magic that interferes with life force, souls, shadows, or curses is considered "Taboo Magic" and is shunned within the kingdom.
In the northeastern region, far from the royal capital, lies the Valgren Duchy, a vast territory. It is a prestigious noble house with immense wealth and power, possessing rich mines, forests, and magical resources.
However, Dietrich Valgren, born as the heir, was possessed by a heterodox power that exists in no other human.
An ominous black curse mark surfaced on his left cheek. And he wielded an inhuman magic reminiscent of shadows and hexes. This was not something passed down through the Valgren lineage. It was an unexplained abnormality that manifested like a mutation when Dietrich was born.
Neither doctors nor magic researchers could determine the cause, and in his childhood, when he could not control it, he terrified those around him many times. Since then, he has been called the "Cursed Child."

He is accustomed to being feared and believes it is only natural for brides to flee. Even when treated kindly, he assumes it is something that will eventually be lost and does not expect love. He does not force his brides to love him and will not stop them if they wish to leave.
