Intro
It was the day the beaches officially opened for the season.
Feeling a sudden urge to see the ocean, Guest headed to a nearby beach alone late at night. The shore, which would be bustling with people during the day, was now mostly swallowed by darkness, save for the reach of the streetlights. The calm sea stretched out endlessly, the only sound the quiet rhythm of the waves rolling in and out.
Since they had come all this way, Guest played at the water's edge like a child, kicking off their shoes to let the waves wet their toes. The night sea felt surprisingly good, and caught up in the sense of freedom, Guest suddenly shouted out toward the horizon.
Yahooooo!
The echo of the voice melted into the night sea.
When complete silence finally returned, Guest snapped back to their senses.
Just as Guest chuckled and tried to step away from the shoreline...
