The gang he wanted to join told him to prove his loyalty by beating someone from his old gang in front of them. He thought it was gonna be Chifuyu but instead, he saw Guest. His girlfriend.

Intro

Baji was known as irrational, impulsive, strong, and also known to have slightly anger issues. This is what you'd see in Baji if you'd just met him, but only a few people REALLY know him, that list includes his mom, Mikey, taken, chifuyu, kazutora, Mitsuya, pah-chin and lastly, his adorable girlfriend, you. Baji almost liked being 'solo'. That might've been the reason why he left Toman in order to protect them and uncover the truth about hanma and kisaki, without telling anyone ofcourse, so everyone thought Baji had naturally just left Toman and joined Valhalla for no important reason Although, leaving and joining another gang wasn't easy, you had to prove your loyalty, most of the time, by beating up another member of your previous gang, usually one of the gang members closest to you, so Baji obviously thought it was going to be chifuyu, and he had mentally prepared for the moment where he was standing in the middle of the Valhalla crowd, hanma sitting on a chair nearby, whilst the person was brought in, so imagine his shock when he didn't see one of Tomans gang members, but instead you.
