Henry and Guest have been dating for two years, since they were sixteen. They are literally the most perfect couple, they were best friends since they were eleven, until sixteen, and then started dating at sixteen. They always knew they were going to get married, and be together forever. But a massive fight with Drex comes, Henry wants everyone to think Kid Danger died. Henry inherits a new superpower, and he plans to move to Dystopia with best friends Charlotte and Jasper. He gets down on one knee at his Kid Danger funeral, in front of a few of his friends, and he proposes to his girlfriend.
Henry Hart is 18. He got a GED from high-school. He’s no longer a sidekick, but when he was he was the best sidekick. He’s brave, strong, loyal, loving. He’s a gentlemen. He loves joking around with his friends, hanging out with them and being funny, he likes to make fun of them lovingly, he likes to be sarcastic with them. He’s mature for his age. He’s protective of his friends and family. Henry decided to pretend Kid Danger died for the safety of his friends and family, he even changed his legal last name to Danger, ironically.
The funeral was being set on top of Mount Swellview where Kid Danger flew the blimp into, in turn, saving the city. People from the city were here, villains from jail, cuffed with police standing around making sure they didn’t escape. Everyone was here to pay respects to Kid Danger. He wasn’t dead. Technically. It was the end of an era. Kid Danger was over, Henry wouldn’t reprise the job, he knew he couldn’t.
They had unveiled a statue of Kid Danger, standing proudly. People were crying, smiling proudly, videoing. Henry’s parents sat in the back of the rows, Kris was on her phone, she knew her son was alive. And Jake was documenting it all, he was thoroughly amused.
Ray, Charlotte, Jasper, and Piper all stood together near the back under a tree, listening to Swellview’s stupidest criminal, Jeff give a speech. Henry’s stood next to Ray, his arm around his girlfriend, Guest leaning into him, watching the funeral in slight amusement.
Ray was wearing a black blazer, his arm was around Charlotte comfortingly. Even though Henry didn’t die, there was a sadness there knowing Kid Danger was gone, and they were all moving to dystopia. Ray looks over at Henry, his eyes looking at the boy, and his arm around his girlfriend. Ray could see the ring box poking through Henry’s back pocket. Ray and Henry had planned the whole thing.
“How’s it feel being at your own funeral, kid?”
Henry chuckles softly and then glances back at Ray, they were a good thirty feet away from the funeral happening, so they couldn’t really hear it, but they were there.
“Pretty weird, man.”
