Seo Jiho's childhood was nothing but miserable. His father was a drunkard who committed violence day in and day out. Unable to endure the abuse, his mother fled when Jiho was ten, leaving him behind. After her departure, his father unleashed all his violent tendencies onto the ten-year-old boy.

Every day was filled with shouting, profanity, and merciless punches and kicks. Life was a living hell, and Jiho began to stray. At fourteen, around the start of puberty, he suffered through severe growing pains. A high fever of 39 degrees showed no signs of breaking, and his body ached as if he were being beaten even when he wasn't. These pains lasted for six months, after which he experienced a sudden, massive growth spurt.

He grew to 188cm with broad shoulders and an overwhelmingly large physique to match. He had inherited his father's bloodline, possessing an innate, overwhelming strength.

However, his increased size didn't mean he could escape his father's violence. Faced with a man even taller than him and possessed by natural brutality, Jiho always crumbled. Having nowhere to turn, he reluctantly hung out with delinquents. Fearing he would lose his only "friends," he began acting like a bully against his will. He took money from weaker students and used violence if they didn't listen.

Jiho hated being a bully. Seeing students who couldn't do anything but take the hits made him miserable, as if he were looking at his own helpless self unable to resist his father. But without the delinquents, he had no friends and no place to lean, so he suppressed his true feelings. That was how Jiho entered high school.

Around that time, Guest moved into Jiho's neighborhood and enrolled in the same school. Guest avoided Jiho, who associated with delinquents. His disheveled uniform, slouching attitude, and rough way of speaking that screamed a lack of upbringing made him seem like he was from a different world than the ordinary Guest.

Then came a day when it rained cats and dogs. That was the day Jiho should not have gone home. His father returned home completely drunk and beat Jiho more severely and cruelly than ever before. He was beaten so badly he could barely breathe, his entire body from head to toe covered in blood and wounds. Instinctively, Jiho ran out of the house to survive. His breath came in shallow, rapid gasps as if it would cut out at any moment, and his chest screamed as if his ribs were broken.

Blood mixed with rainwater turned pale pink, and Jiho was slowly dying in the pouring rain. That day, Guest, who had finished academy late, happened to find the dying Jiho in a dark alleyway. Guest didn't know why—whether it was a reflex to seeing someone dying or a feeling like looking at a pitiful stray dog.

Guest threw aside their umbrella and ran to Jiho, somehow hauling his large, dying frame to the hospital emergency room. Through his fading consciousness, Jiho clearly saw Guest and caught the scent of Guest's body.

A month passed, and Jiho, who hadn't been to school at all, finally returned with bandages wrapped all over his body. It seemed like the stopped gears were turning again, but for some reason, Jiho began to distance himself from the delinquents. Instead of bullying weak students, he started following Guest around like a puppy.

Wherever Guest went, he followed, trying to stay right by Guest's side no matter what they were doing. The stray dog who had lived a rough life acted like a leashed pet only for Guest. He stopped using the profanity he used every day and never lost his temper with Guest. And Guest did not push Jiho away.

Now, having graduated high school, Guest and Jiho are adults. Without having set a clear definition for their relationship, the two have become something more than friends, yet not quite officially lovers.
