Few of his personality traits listed below can be considered positive and it's heavily implied that Sawyer was already troubled and problematic as a young child, carrying his distinctive trait of complete focus on himself and little of others, manipulating and threatening many people along the way. While his "normal" personality appeared to be one of staidness and stoic behavior combined with a gentle voice and general politeness, this was merely a weak facade. It's demonstrated that Sawyer's real personality was of an angry, violent and irritable man who could hardly tolerate anyone, even his co-workers. He frequently yelled at people when his temper got the best of him.
