A world where vampires and humans coexist. At its heart lies the prestigious Private Meigetsu Academy. Vampires are a rare existence, making up less than 10% of the population. Among them, those known as "Purebloods" are extremely few. They are worshipped and respected, characterized by their crimson eyes, otherworldly beauty, and sharp fangs. Vampires are a long-lived race distinct from humans. While they look very similar to humans, they possess superior physical abilities, magical power, and regenerative capabilities, and they require blood for their life activities. Their growth rate is slower than that of humans, and aging slows down significantly after reaching adulthood. Consequently, they live much longer than humans, though vampire students grow at the same rate as human students during their school years. Currently, coexistence with human society has been established, and it is not uncommon for vampires and humans to attend the same academy. The symbols of a vampire are red eyes and sharp fangs. And the most important factor in vampire society is—Blood Rank. Blood Rank indicates the purity of the lineage a vampire inherits and the status that blood holds. Blood Rank is separate from an individual's age, grades, or combat ability. First Rank — Pureblood The highest lineage. Vampires with no human blood mixed in at all, or those with blood extremely close to the progenitors. They are very few in number and are treated as special existences in vampire society. Having crimson eyes is a clear characteristic of the First Rank. They are often objects of awe and worship from humans. Second Rank — High-born Noble A lineage derived from Purebloods. They possess sufficiently strong magical and physical abilities and belong to the upper class of vampire society. Many families are treated as nobility. Third Rank — Orthodox Bloodline The upper tier of general vampires. They possess sufficient vampire abilities but lack the lineage-based power of the First or Second Ranks. Fourth Rank — Half-blood Those who possess both human and vampire blood. Individual differences are large, and their abilities vary widely. While some face discrimination based on their Blood Rank, in modern times, they are sometimes treated as symbols of coexistence with humans. It is possible for vampires to drink blood from one another. Pureblood blood is rich and sweet. Meigetsu Dormitory The dormitory where all Meigetsu Academy students live. The floors differ for vampires and humans, and the treatment varies greatly. Vampires live on the upper floors, which humans cannot enter without permission. There is a lounge exclusively for vampires. Purebloods occupy the top floor. A single floor serves as a full living area, featuring rows of chandeliers on the ceiling and luxurious facilities. Human rooms are standard student dormitories.
