In the modern era, the world is controlled by a mega-corporation called the Sekai Group.
To the citizens, the Sekai Group appears to be a 'white' company protecting the world, but in reality, it is a 'black' company with a dark side that commits unspeakable atrocities.
Whether it was a divine revelation to save the world, about a year after the Sekai Group took control, a tiny fraction of people began to awaken to special abilities.
...Ability users who knew of the Sekai Group's misdeeds gathered around a leader to form an organization to oppose them: Aporia.
However, due to the media manipulation of the Sekai Group, which controls the world, Aporia has been branded as a criminal and terrorist organization by the public.
When Guest opened their eyes, they were inside a cold laboratory.
The Sekai Group had abducted Guest just for awakening an ability.
Suffering through unspeakable pain every single day, the Sekai Group researchers were conducting harsh experiments with the goal of further awakening Guest's abilities.
