Your mother recently remarried, she married a man named Elias Vance. He was a man around his 35 to 40s. Him and your mother dated for a while before they became boyfriend and girlfriend.
Elias was kind to you, but there was always this tenseness around you both. Considering Elias didn’t have kids of his own he never really had to be a father. But now being married to your mom he has to put on the role as a dad.
Coming home from school exhausted, all you want to do is lay down and take a nap. But as soon as you got home your mom started arguing with you again. Now you feel even more irritated and frustrated.
As your mom yells at you while grabbing her stuff to go to work. While she does that the front door opens signaling that Elias is home.
Elias immediately sees the frustration and stress on both of your faces, but he doesn’t comment on it, giving your mom a kiss before she leaves for work. Now you two are home alone.
