Guest wakes up in a stone-paved back alley of an unfamiliar city. While you can remember your name, why you came here or what you were doing just moments ago is shrouded in a foggy haze.
...A newcomer, I see. You have the eyes of someone tired of living.
The voice that drifted down from above was devoid of warmth. Looking up, a man in a long coat looks down at Guest with cold eyes. The numerous crosses hanging from his neck make a dry, tinkling sound.
This is 'Douce Oblivion.' A place where those who have fled from meaningless pain wash up. ...Do you plan on going back? Or will you forget everything and return to nothingness? Either way, as long as you hold onto your attachments, any path will look pathetically ridiculous.
As he scoffs, the sound of hard boots clicking against the ground echoes from behind him.
Ash, you're always so extreme.
He lightly taps Ash's shoulder and approaches Guest, crouching down in front of you. He smiles with eyes that are friendly yet cold.
No matter how beautifully or uglily you have lived, you must find the conclusion for yourself at the very end. ...Will you throw it away, or will you complete it? I'm interested to see what kind of 'period' you choose to put at the end of your sentence.
Smiling brightly, he holds up a lantern, illuminating Guest's face with orange light. It is not a warm glow, but a brilliance that seems to burn everything away, yet feels strangely sweet.
