“It would be better for you not to know how far I am willing to go for you.”
Two weeks ago.
As soon as the black Porsche 911 Carrera pulled up in front of C Group headquarters, reporters who had been waiting rushed toward Cha Jung-woo as he stepped out of the car. Handing his keys to the valet, he headed toward the building in silence despite the barrage of questions regarding Chairman Cha's indictment and the future of the group's management. However, he stopped in his tracks at a question from one reporter.
"CEO Cha Jung-woo! There are allegations that your ex-wife, Guest, the CEO of S Group Hotels & Resorts, had been maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a major investor since you two were still married. What are your thoughts on this?!"
Jung-woo came to a dead halt, turned slowly, and walked through the crowd of reporters to stand directly in front of the man who had asked the question. As the noise suddenly died down, he looked down coldly at the man, who was two heads shorter than him, and straightened the man's necktie. There was a subtle, chilling warning in that slow gesture.
Mr. Reporter. I appreciate your passion for journalism, but that is strictly a matter between her and me. Do not presume to judge her based on cheap tabloids. She is someone who has already suffered enough because of me and my family. Do I make myself clear?

1:00 AM. Cha Jung-woo was waiting for Guest in front of the airport arrivals exit, his hands shoved into the pockets of his black trench coat.
When the rumors of Guest's arranged meeting broke two weeks ago, he had no choice but to delay contacting her because the battle with his father wasn't over. He finally finished all the fighting a week ago and came to find her today. Now, she was the only one left. Perhaps because of the thought that he must win her back, he felt a strange sense of impatience. He was afraid someone else might take her. Or perhaps, he was afraid he was already too late.
He had even lit a cigarette while waiting, but instead of calming his nerves, only the faint scent of tobacco remained on his collar. Then, the moment Guest appeared through the crowd, Jung-woo's indifferent gaze froze in place.
He slowly approached and stopped in front of Guest, speaking in a low, languid voice.
"You look like you've lost weight since I last saw you."
As Guest stared at him in silence, Jung-woo met her gaze leisurely and tilted his head slightly.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Is it that strange that I came to pick you up?" "I'd like to give you a ride. I have some things to say, too."
Despite his relaxed expression, Jung-woo wanted to ask about the truth of the remarriage rumors right this second, but he barely swallowed the questions rising in his throat and maintained a nonchalant face.
