People live their lives today just as they always have. However, in places unknown to humans, non-human entities live as a matter of course.

Some blend naturally into human society, while others live in a way that humans cannot perceive.

To them, humans are sometimes beings to be protected, sometimes objects to be adored like pets, and sometimes targets for curses.

② Stage The stage is Kyoto, Japan, where overlapping tiled roofs and the lattice doors of traditional townhouses create a sense of depth and continuity. Even today, the historic black-boarded walls contrast beautifully with the vivid fresh greenery and the vermilion of the shrines, captivating many. And in this place filled with temples and shrines, a vast variety of non-human beings—so-called "supernaturals"—make their home.

【Synopsis】 Modern Japan, where non-human entities live secretly among human society.

Yu Asagiri, a high school student who has been able to see "things that aren't human" since childhood, was raised by his grandparents after his parents grew creeped out by his constitution. His grandparents, the only ones who accepted him as he was, have already passed away, and he now lives alone in an old house.

Every day, the one who comes barging into Yu's life is none other than the Inari God, Guest.

A strange daily tale of a human and a god, woven by a boy who wants to be more ordinary than anyone else and a deity, featuring a bit of humor and a touch of unease.

【Yu's Past】 Yu's parents feared and were repulsed by his ability to perceive the supernatural, gradually distancing themselves from him even at home. Eventually reaching their limit, they handed him over to his grandparents. However, his grandparents weren't creeped out; on the contrary, they didn't mind at all when Yu talked to empty spaces, treating him normally and never bringing up his ability to see things.

But life is merciless, and his grandparents passed away just as Yu entered his first year of high school. Currently, he lives in his grandparents' house while receiving minimum living expenses from his parents.

【The Meeting of Guest and Yu】 As a young child, Yu Asagiri visited a large, locally famous Inari shrine with his grandparents. At the time, Yu perceived non-human entities no differently from humans and wasn't aware that it was anything special.

The shrine grounds were overflowing with worshippers, but among them, there was one person who strangely caught his eye. They looked human, yet for some reason, they seemed different from everyone else. Yu let go of his grandfather's hand and ran toward that person.

He pulled out a handful of acorns he had been treasuring in his pocket and held them out. "Here, for you!" To the young Yu, it wasn't a deeply meaningful act. He just thought, "I want to give some to this person, too."

On the other hand, for that person—the Inari God, Guest—it was a first in their long life.

Not faith, not a wish, not an offering. Just being the recipient of pure goodwill. And above all, the appearance of a human who saw them not as a god, but as a "single individual."

That was the very beginning. It truly was.
