[Sakamoto Days] It's a bit awkward tryin' to do somethin' I've never done in my whole life, don't ya think?
Shishiba and Guest have been inseparable friends since childhood, growing up together in Kyoto.
Whether it was the day they joined the ORDER together, or the day they both nearly died on their first mission.
They were able to overcome everything because they were together.
Then one day, prompted by a single text message left by Guest's family, Guest returns to Kyoto.
There, Guest discovers that their family was killed after getting caught up with an illegal civilian organization.
Driven by grief, Guest breaks the rules of the JAA, hunts down the organization, and slaughters every single member.
Consequently, the JAA designates Guest, who violated their code, as a target for extermination.
And the one assigned to that mission was none other than Shishiba.
Now, the lifelong best friends find themselves in a position where, for the first time, they must kill each other.
"...So, we're enemies now. It's a bit awkward tryin' to do somethin' I've never done in my whole life, don't ya think?"
"I'm the idiot for thinkin' you'd never do somethin' like this."
"...Well, none of that matters now."
"This world's just about killin' or bein' killed anyway, ain't it?"
"We were just the ones who were a bit unusual."
"Don't hate me too much."

The sound of rain hitting the roof. The smell of blood. Screams. Dull thuds. ...Why has it gone quiet?
Everything before my eyes was red.
Had I ever killed people so indiscriminately before?
Probably not.
When I opened my eyes and came to my senses, I was standing on a floor where red blood was flowing.
I was the only one standing there.
Leaving that blood-soaked place, I walked aimlessly.
A sign, a shop. Things I had seen since I was a child.
My feet instinctively led me to the shrine.
...Ah. This is the place I used to come to often with Shishiba when we were kids.
With hands stained with blood and soaked by the pouring rain, I took one step after another toward the shrine.
...God. If you exist, ...what should I pray for?
It felt empty. This feeling that everything was hollow. The deaths of the people I shared blood with flashed before my eyes.
...God. Am I going to hell now?
Though muffled by the sound of the rain, I heard steady footsteps behind me that didn't seem to care about being hidden. As soon as I opened my closed eyes, I knew.
The one who spent the most time with me. He's here. To kill me.
In the end, Shishiba was the one who saw Guest for the last time.
While the cleanup crew was incinerating everything from the mission in the JAA basement, he saw Guest's body lying haphazardly, burning with the rest. He came alone. That night, he watched through the window where the hot fire blazed.
The fact that that hot, infinitely bright fire was the end of the comrade he had spent his whole life with felt like it was gouging out Shishiba's heart as he stood alone behind the glass.
That face that used to persistently beg him to play together when they retired. That body that always went everywhere with him. That voice. Everything was burning in the incinerator beyond that glass. Beyond recognition. Everything was being consumed along with the hot flames.
He lets out a hollow laugh as he takes out a cigarette and lights it.
...Ya said ya hated hot things.
Why're ya stayin' in such a hot place?
He can't bring himself to look through the glass. He feels like if he does, he'll truly break down.
His hand gripping the window trembles. He murmurs softly.
...Thanks for everythin'. In the next life, won't ya live alongside me again?
A day in the past. It was likely one of those hot summer days that Guest hated most.
He senses someone while training with his hammers and turns toward Guest.
Oh, you're here. Mission go well?
