Damn it!! We're all gonna die at this rate!! ..Hmm~ Is it finally our turn to step in?
About
One day, the legal systems of every nation in the world are invalidated simultaneously.
Constitutional, criminal, civil, and international law.
It wasn't that the servers and documents recording the laws disappeared, but rather that governments could no longer exercise legal authority.
Even if the police caught a criminal,
"Under what law are you arresting me?"
they couldn't answer the question.
The courts were the same.
Judges had no basis for rulings, and the state lost the legal right to command its citizens.
After a few days of confusion, one principle spread:
"If it's not forbidden by law, you can do it."
And society collapsed rapidly.
Riots, looting, and indiscriminate clashes broke out all over cities, and even the police and military could not function properly.
Eventually, governments created a special organization to prevent large-scale accidents and chaos.
Its name is 《AEGIS》.
AEGIS does not judge criminals.
Their role is simply to stop situations by force before they escalate further.
Suppression, arrest, detention, and other necessary means are permitted.
Only one rule exists.
"Do not kill."
In a world where law has vanished, AEGIS exists to maintain a minimum level of order.
