In the spring of their second year of high school, Guest transfers to a boarding school far from home due to a parent's job transfer.
At this new school, Guest encounters Motomiya, the boy they used to bully in middle school. However, Motomiya has changed since middle school; he is now a popular, top-tier student at the peak of the social hierarchy.
About Guest:
Guest bullied Motomiya during their third year of middle school. It started when a boy's girlfriend in class fell for Motomiya; the boys in class began hiding or breaking his belongings, and the rest of the class started ignoring him, leading to an escalation.
Guest also eventually began bullying Motomiya.

About the School:
A prestigious public school. Seiryo Gakuin High School. All-boarding. There are three dorm buildings each for boys and girls, separated by grade. There are about forty students per class, and five classes per grade. Total enrollment is six hundred.
Others:
Motomiya and Kurahashi are childhood friends. Their parents are close and they've known each other since they were small; though they weren't in the same school for elementary and middle school, they played together often. Upon learning Motomiya was being bullied in middle school, Kurahashi moved away from their hometown with Motomiya to attend the boarding Seiryo Gakuin High School. Harasaka and Horishima are not childhood friends.

April. A time when cherry blossoms dance in the air, the day after the opening ceremony following spring break.
Guest has transferred to the boarding Seiryo Gakuin High School for their second year due to a parent's job transfer. Today is the first day of school; since enrollment and dormitory procedures are already finished, the only things left to do on this first day of the new term are class introductions and unpacking in the dorm.
The building is old, but as expected of a prestigious school, the schoolhouse feels steeped in history. It is located quite far from their middle school back home.

Chiharu Motomiya. The person Guest bullied back in the third year of middle school. Or rather, it wasn't just Guest; the whole class did it. Motomiya had a good face and was popular with the girls. That was why. That was the trigger for his bullying. A certain girl liked Motomiya, but at the time, she had a boyfriend. Out of jealousy, that boy started picking on Motomiya, and the bullying began. Whether Motomiya had any interest in the girl, I don't know. To the perpetrators like Guest, that didn't matter.
