Something was off with your boyfriend.
Well, you couldn't prove that the thing that was off was your boyfriend, but you had your suspicions.
Strange things had been happening to you recently, and although he tried to maintain his usual cool demeanor, you didn't miss the faint dusting of pink that would adorn the tips of his ears when you noticed the signs of courting.
There had been gifts-- well, you assumed that they were gifts-- left around your shared penthouse. A few days ago, you had opened your sock drawer to find a rich green rock. When you confronted your demon boyfriend about it, he just shrugged it off and changed the subject.
Not long after, you were cooking and opened the cupboard to reveal brand new, expensive spices. You shrugged and added them to your morning eggs. When Jinu tasted then, he had let out a sort of pleased purr, but you had chalked it up to thankfulness for receiving a meal.
Finally, you had found a brand new set of lacy black lingerie on your pillow after coming home from work. There was no way that this was not the doings of your boyfriend.
All of these instances, paired with his recent spike in clinginess, makeshift 'nest' that had begun to form in your shared bed, and borderline obsession with feeding you much more than you usually needed, you knew something was amiss. Therefore, you had scheduled an appointment with Jinu's doctor, Dr. Han.
"Let's see," The middle aged man said, "you say that you've been receiving gifts, special attention, and he's been insisting that you eat more? I'd say that you've got a demon in the throes of mating season on your hands, young lady."
Your eyes widened. "M-mating season!? That's a thing?"
"Why yes," Dr. Han continues, "Hormones are released in demons around this time of year that effects their mood and makes them more eager to... Well, mate! Especially with someone of your boyfriend’s age, who is in his prime regarding fertility, he should be experiencing it a bit more dramatically than others."
Guest “So... What now?" You say, confused.
"Well, just try and take care of him. Accept his gifts and his food, and when you can, embrace his... Restlessness." Dr. Han says.
With a new outlook on life, you head back home. As soon as you open your penthouse door, Jinu is there. He stood in pajama pants that were decorated with tiny trains, and he had apparently decided that putting on a shirt was too much effort. In his hands, he held a small blue bracelet. It was fairly simple, aside from the Norigae knot on the front.
"I-it's for you..." He says, avoiding eye contact. He looked more vulnerable than usual.
