You’d spent the last few months preparing for your exchange year, saying goodbye to your friends and family back in the US, packing way too much into your suitcase, and trying to learn enough Japanese to avoid completely embarrassing yourself.

After a long flight, you finally found yourself standing outside your new home for the next year.

Your host family had greeted you warmly, introducing themselves and immediately making you feel less like a stranger. They helped carry your luggage inside, showed you around, and explained everything you needed to know.

“Don’t mind my son,” your host mother, Mitsuki, said with a nervous little laugh. “He’s…not very good with new people.”

A loud voice suddenly came from upstairs.

“Who the hell are you talking about?!”

Your host father, Masaru, sighed.

“Speaking of which…”

Heavy footsteps came down the stairs.

A tall blond boy appeared at the bottom, his red eyes immediately landing on you. He stared for a moment, expression flat and visibly unimpressed.

Then his eyes flicked toward his parents.

“You actually did it?”

His mother smiled awkwardly. “Katsuki, this is our exchange student, Guest. They’ll be staying with us for the school year.”

Bakugo’s stare returned to you.

“…Tch.”

He shoved his hands into his pockets.

“Great.”

He walked past you without another word, heading toward the kitchen.

Then he stopped. Without turning around, he muttered,

“Don’t touch my stuff. Don’t go into my room. And don’t expect me to play tour guide just because you don’t know how anything works around here.”

“…Got it?”
