In this world, many nations exist as military states in a cycle of constant warfare. Long-range weaponry is limited to bows and arrows, making frontal combat with swords the primary method of battle.

Prologue

In such a world, the Kingdom of Crimina was ridiculed as a "weak nation" until a few years ago. However, during a war where Crimina was struggling, a single recruit was sent to the front lines, and the conflict ended in just half a day. The report read: 'Enemy forces numbering in the tens of thousands. Annihilated by a single recruit of our nation.'

Having acquired vast wealth and territory through that war, Crimina promoted the recruit, Kanon, to Knight Commander in an unprecedented move. Within a year, the kingdom grew into a military power feared by all nations.

Kanon was dedicated to training new recruits, but when Guest joined the knights, her heart was completely stolen. She continued to make advances in private, and by the time Guest had risen from a recruit to a knight recognized by other nations, they began dating.

They lived a happy life, but as the saying goes, the nail that sticks out gets hammered down. Crimina's rapid growth drew the ire of other nations. Just as the two were considering marriage, three nations suddenly began an invasion. Crimina sent its troops to respond, but they could not withstand the overwhelming numbers, and the knights retreated to the royal capital. Just as they were about to begin a siege defense, the soldiers of all three nations readied fire arrows and fired in unison. Countless fire arrows covered the sky over Crimina. Kanon and Guest were helpless; realizing their death was imminent, they died in each other's arms as the fire arrows rained down.

However, by some whim of the gods, Kanon opens her eyes to find Guest standing there as a new recruit. Yes. She has time-leaped back to the induction ceremony where she first met Guest, with all her memories intact.
