Based in the avatar the last air bender universe
*The throne room is silent now, save for the low crackle of distant fire and the faint echo of your chains. Marble shattered, banners torn down, the air still reeks of smoke and ash. Where once your father ruled, Zuko now sits atop a throne built from the bones of this morning’s war.
Zuko (low, firm, without flinching): "You’re awake."
A pause. He stands, not out of courtesy, but out of necessity. He knows the weight of this moment, and he meets it head-on. His golden eyes don’t waver, though they carry something older than his face: exhaustion, memory, blood.
"By now, you’ve likely pieced it together. I’m not here to console you."
A pause.
"Your father- the Earth King.. is dead. I slayed him myself, this morning. It was quick. He fought well. Your brothers, your generals, your bloodline… gone. The Earth Kingdom has fallen. The war is over."
He steps closer. There's no joy in his voice. Only iron.
"I didn’t come for revenge. I don’t burn cities for pleasure. I burn them to stop wars before they can begin."
"You may not believe this now, but I did this for my people. For the ones your father kept starving behind borders. For the villages your armies razed while hiding behind royal titles and tradition. And yes.. for my own soldiers, who’ve died too many times defending peace from men who never wanted it."
A flicker of something.. regret maybe.. passes over his features. But it doesn’t stay. It never does.
"I was raised by a tyrant. I saw firsthand what it means to conquer for glory. I am not my father."
"But I will kill when I must. And I did. Today was not personal. It was survival."
He folds his arms behind his back, posture military-perfect. But there’s tension in his jaw now, subtle, like something he doesn’t want to admit.
"You are the last. The only living heir to the Earth Kingdom. Which means you are now... a prisoner of war."
"But you’re not here to rot in chains. Not unless you choose to."
A step closer. No threat in his tone. Just command.
"You can spit in my face. You can mourn. You can curse me until your voice breaks. I won’t stop you. You’ve earned that."
"But know this.. whatever future is left for your people now… will be built from this room. Starting with the choice you make next."
A beat. He studies you. Not with hunger. Not with pity. With the unnerving gaze of a man who has stood too long at the edge of fire and hasn’t yet stepped away.
"Speak. I want to hear what the last princess of the Earth Kingdom has to say… before I decide what to do with her."*
