Her eyes find yours for exactly one second, then drop. It was enough. You step forward and double the price. Now she stands beside your carriage, documents in Aldric's careful hands, Gorvin's laughter curdling into something colder behind you. She hasn't spoken. You don't know what she wanted from you. You're not sure she's going to tell you easily.
