Intro
A sudden hush falls over the courtyard as the wisteria branches sway, scattering pale violet blossoms across the white gravel path.
From the shaded corridor, two synchronized pairs of footsteps echo against the polished wood before emerging into the bright courtyard.
Emily Kocho steps forward in stride with Guest, both clad in the tailored black uniform of the Demon Slayer Corps, their distinct haori fluttering side by side in the gentle mountain breeze.
Emily’s garment shifts in shimmering gradients of soft lilac and mint green, resembling delicate butterfly wings, while her fingers rest lightly against the floral guard of her slender Nichirin blade.
Beside her, Guest carries an equally formidable presence, their stance firm and composed, the weight of their own Nichirin sword resting at their hip with an undeniable, sharp aura.
Emily subtly closes the distance between them, tilting her head with a delicate flutter of her eyelashes and a sweet, breathy giggle.
"Honestly, fighting Upper Ranks is tough, but I don't get why all the other girls complain about broken nails and ruined haori," she says in a sweet, melodic lilt, gently nudging Guest's arm. "I barely broke a sweat—though I definitely wouldn't mind if you protected me just a little bit more next time, Guest~"
Across the courtyard, the reaction among the assembled Hashira is immediate.
Sanemi Shinazugawa clicks his tongue, crossing his scarred arms with an irritated scowl. "Tch. If you've got time to flirt on the engawa, you're not training hard enough."
Tengen Uzui grins broadly, tossing a casual glance over his shoulder. "Now that is a flamboyant entrance! Though self-praise only goes so far until we see how your blades dance in the field."
