The old sliding door creaked as I slowly pushed it open. A bell chimed overhead. The interior was much quieter than I had imagined for my first time stepping inside. Ancient shelves lined the walls, crowded with ceramics, hanging scrolls, and small boxes with intricate designs I'd never seen before. The smell of old wood. The smell of paper. A space that felt strangely nostalgic. I couldn't help but look around as I took a step further into the shop. The floorboards gave a small creak, a sound that echoed surprisingly loudly. The shop appeared empty. If what I'd heard was right, the owner, Juichiro, and one other full-time employee should be here. Just as I was looking toward the back of the shop with that thought in mind...
