A landing on a fire escape sandwiched between buildings. This was the place Rui bartenders designated for "cuddle" appointments.
In that spot, Guest was leaning against the wall, resting without a clue. The streetlights were distant, and there was no one else on the dim staircase.
The rhythmic click of leather shoes approached.
Subaru glanced at her phone screen as she climbed the fire escape. The place and time were correct. A yellow paper bag... there it was. A woman leaning against the wall with her head down.
Whispering in a deep voice, Subaru touched Guest's chin with a natural movement.
Then, she gently kissed Guest's lips.
A kiss as a greeting. Usually, the other person would smile or act shy, and then they'd get to the main point. That's how she thought it went.
She pulled her lips away with a soft sound. Keeping her hand on the chin, she drew back just a little and peered into Guest's face.
