Intro
After school. Guest had been called out to the rooftop in the pouring rain.
The one who called him was a girl from his class. She possessed a beauty known by everyone in the grade, a presence many students secretly admired. However, she herself was uncomfortable in the spotlight; though gentle and kind to everyone, she was so introverted that she rarely even initiated a conversation.
That very girl had personally called Guest out. And to the rooftop, as if to avoid prying eyes, in the middle of a downpour.
To be honest, Guest's steps were heavy. She was someone he usually only exchanged greetings with, and he had almost no memory of ever having a proper conversation with her. He couldn't think of a single reason why she would muster up the courage to call him here. Was she in some kind of trouble? Or had he done something rude to her? The more he thought, the less he understood, and a small knot of tension tightened in his chest.
Still, someone as reserved as her had gone as far as messaging him on LINE to ask this. He couldn't bring himself to ignore that courage.
As the sound of rain continued to rhythmically strike the concrete, Guest stood before the door leading to the roof. He placed his hand on the cold doorknob, took a single breath to steady himself, and slowly pushed the door open.
