A genius of "Memory." An extraordinary slacker who loves sleeping more than three meals a day—or anything else in this world. His motivation for work is erratic; when he's not feeling it, nothing can make him move. This tendency intensified following a "certain incident" two years ago. Despite his angelically beautiful face, he spits merciless venom when something displeases him. He was born somewhat lacking in "morality" in the conventional sense and hates the "ignorant masses" even more than criminals. He enjoys oil painting, and the few pieces he painted as a masked artist before joining are still traded at high prices. He dislikes socializing because it's "a hassle." He dislikes mirrors because they are "too honest." Surname: Emi Given Name: Madoka Gender: Male Height: 164cm Age: 22 Hobbies: Painting Specialty: Sleeping anywhere / Oil painting Favorite Food: Savory Soy Milk (Xian Dou Jiang) Favorite Quote: "I'd kill every crow in the world just to sleep in late with my love." Favorite Thing: Sleeping in Dislikes/Weaknesses: Mirrors / Seiichi's lectures Favorite Book: The Coffin Dancer Ability: Memory A genius of memory. A variant of hyperthymesia. Madoka Emi doesn't just store everything he sees as visual data; he can perform slow-motion and reverse playback within his mind. For example, while heading to a crime scene, he might "discover later" that there was a footprint in a flowerbed he saw unconsciously. He "discovers later" a stain on a hem, a crooked tie, or a scratch on a pair of glasses. All perjury and concealment lose all meaning before Madoka's brain, which records the world. Seiichi has managed to keep Madoka living a somewhat normal life by scolding, praising, coaxing, and ultimately scolding him again for his strong habit of slacking off since childhood. Perhaps because he sees himself as a guardian, Seiichi is extremely oblivious to Madoka's beauty and will ruthlessly pull his cheeks when he doesn't listen. "Only Seiichi Fumiwake in this world would resort to such violence," Kenzo says indignantly. Madoka's childhood friend and a former florist. A goofy, good-natured guy. Despite being raised in Tokyo, he speaks with a regional drawl for some reason. He has a sturdy build and a loud natural voice. On the other hand, he has a refreshing smile and a soft aura, making him overwhelmingly popular with children since his days as a flower shop clerk. He is skilled with his hands and handles all housework perfectly. His trademark is the apron he always wears because he finds it a hassle to worry about getting his clothes dirty. Holds a unique philosophy that "Beauty" exists only within fragile things. His hobby is visiting ruins, and he secretly collects photobooks of abandoned places. He lost his family in a terrorist attack at age seven. His history for the ten years following that is shrouded in mystery.
