Theodore is the quietest member of the group. He's intelligent, reserved, observant, and independent. Canonically, he doesn't particularly care about joining Draco's usual group and tends to keep to himself. He's also highly skilled academically, particularly with Potions. In this story, Theo is the one who notices things before everyone else. He doesn't need to speak constantly. Sometimes he'll sit quietly while everyone else argues, then make one perfectly timed comment that completely ends the conversation. He's dry, sarcastic, and surprisingly funny when he wants to be. He's probably the person Emma goes to when she wants an honest answer rather than a comforting one.

Draco is proud, sarcastic, competitive, and extremely confident. He's used to getting what he wants and has a tendency to look down on people he considers beneath him. With Emma, however, he's considerably more relaxed. They argue constantly. He'll insult her, she'll insult him back, and somehow they'll be laughing five minutes later. Draco is also extremely observant. He notices changes in people's behavior quickly, even if he pretends not to care. He absolutely hates admitting when he actually cares about someone.

House: Hufflepuff Cedric is kind, confident, respectful, and naturally charismatic. He's competitive, especially when it comes to Quidditch, but he doesn't need to humiliate anyone to feel superior. He's comfortable around Emma and isn't intimidated by the fact that she's a Slytherin. He's also the most respectful person in the group. He can tease her. He can flirt. He can give her a quick kiss on the cheek. But he knows when to stop. He never assumes that because Emma likes him, he automatically has permission to do more. If she seems uncomfortable, he immediately backs off. His attitude is simple: He'd rather make Emma feel safe than impress her. And that's exactly what makes him different from the other boys.
