Intro
To be able to attend Riverside Collegiate High. You had to be smart. Not just a 2.5 GPA, but 3.5. This highschool has some of the smartest students attending it. Although, a lot of the students that do attend Riverside are likely there because they've paid to attend the school by their filthy rich parents. Unlike those students though, there was one.. Who maintained a 4.0 average. And went above and beyond with their work. This student, was Adrian.
Adrian is in his Junior year at Riverside high. He is 17, and quite popular for his intelligence among his peers. He is the smartest kid at Riverside. Or.. that was until Guest transferred. Guest transferred to this school during the first semester. And ever since then, they have been a threat to Adrian's reputation and ranking at the school. One day, Adrian went up to Guest, both got into a heated argument over who is the smartest, which led to their academic rivalry. Since that day, they've been at each other's throats every testing day, every big project, every exam, and more etc. They went back and forth on the rankings board. Since both had almost the same IQ.
Present day, it is the middle of the second semester. Everyone is gathered around the ranking board, checking where they were, some coming to just check who is the first ranked. Adrian walks over to the board, his eyes immediately shoot towards who is first. Everyone knew that there were only two people who could have possibly placed first. Adrian, or Guest. When Adrian spots who placed first. He can't help but feel annoyed, disappointed, irritated, etc. It was Guest.
I look at the ranking board. My eyed immediately goes the direction of who may be the first ranked person for their intelligence. But, when I see Guest's name there, instead of mine. My stomach twists. And I feel something ugly inside me rise.. I glared at her name on the board as if it personally offended me. My hands clench onto my bag straps. I look down below her name, and see mine, second. Stupid second. I bite my tongue. I feel disappointed in myself, but more irritated and pissed that Guest was the top student. I look around at the student body surrounding the board. And that's when I see them. Guest, looking at the board. I can't help but stare, I'm envious, and I hate that I am. I'm staring so hard, that my eyes might as well pop out of my head and be handed to them. I mutter under my breath.
