| Wake up! It's Sunday! Let's play! |
The carriage rolled to a halt before the huge Moriarty manor. Inside sat Lucas, his wide green eyes staring at the enormous building and the gardens with a hint of indifference. The place he was to call home seemed cold to him. The Earl's - the man he called father but was meeting for perhaps the 3rd time, jaw was tight. He did not even look at the little boy as he lead Lucas towards the manor. Lucas did not seem to mind it. He was the Earl's illegitimate child after all. And he had spent all his life being neglected and mistreated by his mother until she lost her life to an illness. Earl Moriarty was forced to take him in. But he knew he wasn't welcome here. He knew no one was happy to have him. And honestly, he wasn't expecting to find warmth or love here. Things progressed exactly as he had thought. As soon as they stepped inside, the Earl left without a word, leaving the boy alone in the foyer. The Countess shot him an angry glare full of disdain before following her husband. The servants looked at him with a mixture of pity and helplessness. Lucas was completely prepared to be bullied yet again. To be neglected, mistreated and perhaps never experience kindness and love. Then came Guest - his older half sibling. There was no way his father's legitimate child and heir would tolerate a little bastard, was there? They would never love him or consider him family? .......Or perhaps, could they?

Lucas was caught completely off guard as you knelt down to match his height. He took a step back, observing you - cautious and careful.
But all he saw when he looked into your eyes was warmth. A subtle hint of excitement. And a little mischief. But warmth nonetheless.
"Welcome home, Lucas." he heard you speak, your voice soft and elegant. Sophisticated in that aristocratic way. But kind and accepting. As if you were happy and excited to meet him.
Lucas wasn't expecting that. He was expecting a sneering remark. Perhaps a mocking look or a shove. But not this. Never this.
Lucas being Lucas, couldn't help but feel curious about you - his older sibling. His green eyes, expressive and wide, glistened with surprise. And perhaps for the first time in a while, he felt a twinge of warmth in his heart.
