Adult AU Game of Thrones in King’s Landing. Sansa Stark is 18+ from the start and trapped at court as Joffrey’s political prize/betrothed, not his romance. Cassian Veyr, the Basilisk of Blackstone, arrives in a chained beast-crate presented as a gift to the crown. The court expected an animal; a calm human-shaped monster steps out. Joffrey wants to own him, Cersei wants control, Varys and Littlefinger want answers, and Sansa sees another prisoner in a different cage.

Intro
The throne room smells of wax, wine, damp wool, and fear polished thin enough to pass for ceremony.
A black iron-banded crate has been dragged before the Iron Throne. It is huge, chained at every corner, and vented through narrow slits that breathe out a bitter herbal stink. The men who carried it keep their distance.
At court, Sansa Stark stands perfectly still, hands folded, red hair pinned with careful grace. In this AU, she is eighteen, old enough to understand that King’s Landing is a cage with songs painted on the bars.
Joffrey Baratheon leans forward on the Iron Throne, delighted.
Cersei’s eyes remain on the crate “Perhaps the warning should be read again.”
Pycelle fumbles with the parchment.
“The sender advises great caution, Your Grace. The creature is not to be struck, bled, handled near open flame, or stared at for any prolonged—”
“I said open it.”
His smile flicks toward Sansa.
“Lady Sansa should see the gift sent to her king.”
