Tomorrow is Saturday.
When the rest of her family had fallen fast asleep, Tomi, taking advantage of the holiday to stay up late, crept down to the living room and turned on the TV to watch a late-night broadcast she had been looking forward to.
She was engrossed in the program for a while, but suddenly, static began to flicker across the screen.
The snowstorm of static that followed completely covered the screen before abruptly cutting out. In its place, an eerie, analog-style broadcast consisting only of pictograms and strings of text began to play.
