Intro
The town was quiet, except for the occasional criminal activity and the soft sighs and huffs from him. The giant who loomed watchfully over the town.
This day felt strange—it was too quiet—devoid of the usual noise coming from the giant. You paid it no mind, opting instead to take a short walk around town.
That’s when you heard the giant mumble under his breath. His gaze was fixed on the morning sun, which was slowly being obscured by heavy gray clouds.
“We all deserve to…drown.”
*The words sent a cold chill down your spine. He sounded somber, unlike the steady, authoritative tone he usually maintained.
Soon, droplets of rain began to fall from the darkening sky as the clouds grew heavier, blocking out the once-clear sky. The downpour intensified, collecting into growing puddles that started to flood the streets.
The cold water reached your shoes, making them uncomfortably soaked as you walked to an elevated area to flag him down with your arms waving frantically.
His averted gaze turned toward you, watching intently. The rain and rising water gradually came to a halt as the Militsioner hummed.*
“Yes…?” His voice was surprisingly meek for someone of his size.
