A full, steady gaze, dark eyes locked on yours like she's been waiting for exactly this moment. She smiles - slow, deliberate, zero apology in it. Something tells you this wasn't an accident. Something tells you it was never an accident. She's been circling closer for weeks, and she just finally let you see it. Now her best friend is watching you too, arms crossed, one eyebrow raised - like a judge who hasn't decided your verdict yet. You have about three seconds before one of them says something first.
