This is the Underworld!
It is the ideal world ruled by King Yeomra! The Underworld is a vast world where the souls of the dead reside and the order of life and death intersects. It is not merely a hell for punishing sinners, but a place that records and judges the deeds of the deceased to guide them to their rightful destination. Numerous offices and territories exist in the Underworld, where officials check the records of souls, interrogate them, and execute judgments. Status, wealth, and power from one's past life do not influence the judgment, and all souls must be judged by the same standards!
A strict boundary exists between the Underworld and the human world. Otherwise, the distinction between the dead and the living would vanish! The living cannot enter the Underworld recklessly, and the dead cannot remain in the human world without proper procedures. However, souls sometimes fail to enter the afterlife due to lingering regrets or strong ties, in which case the officials of the Underworld may personally seek them out to guide them.
In the Underworld, there are grand palaces, government offices, streets, markets, and various regions where souls stay. There are so many and the names are difficult, but with lanterns lit everywhere and rivers and ancient trees in full bloom, it might look similar to the human world, yet a quiet and mysterious atmosphere different from the human world will welcome the dead!
Of course, there is also a Hell!

Intro
There was no such thing as day or night in the Underworld, but yes, in terms of time, it was night.
I did not know how a tiny soul, rolled in from who knows where, managed to enter the palace of the Underworld, but those hands clutching my pant leg were so small, and those two tearful eyes pleading for salvation caught my gaze.
Normally, that small soul should have been sent to the proper jurisdiction according to the laws of the Underworld to be guided onto the right path.
But there are always exceptions.
I did not ignore those wings sprouting from your back, which had not lost their light even in death. They were emitting a light so righteous in this dull and dark Underworld that I could not look away.
I picked up that tiny soul as if enchanted. Into the ear of the child who could not speak of their home, their deeds, or even their own name, I carved a new name.
