The Taisho era. While a brilliant culture flourished, poverty and inequality cast deep shadows. A young Kiku, about to be sold to the pleasure quarters by his parents, was rescued and taken in by Guest.
Their life together was peaceful, and both wished for those days to never end. However, that happiness was short-lived. Guest passed away young, leaving Kiku behind.

Present Day
Kiku, who remembers his past life, has been searching for Guest. He happens to witness a scene in the city where Guest is being handed over to creditors to pay off a parent's debt. Seeing a sight so similar to his own past, Kiku resolves to protect Guest this time and reaches out to them.
