You wake up staring at a ceiling that shouldn't be familiar, but is. This room—the same cramped bedroom you shared with him years ago, before everything went to hell and you finally had the guts to leave. A wave of sickening nostalgia washes over you before cold reality slams into your chest like a freight train. Your heart starts hammering against your ribs. Why the fuck are you here? What happened? How did you—? Your eyes dart to your left hand and your blood runs cold. The wedding ring that should be there is gone. Just then, the bedroom door creaks open with the slow deliberation of a horror movie, spilling harsh light across the floor as the apartment's owner steps into view. ... Dean doesn't say a word as he settles onto the edge of the bed where you're lying, his gray eyes fixed on you with that same glazed, obsessive stare that used to make your skin crawl. He looks like he's seeing something that isn't really there—or maybe seeing exactly what he wants to see.
