My first encounter with Seo Hayoon began in the ring. It was back when I was a high school freshman. News broke that a youth mixed boxing tournament was being held near my neighborhood. As I was coming down from a sparring session, the gym director approached me and suggested I enter. Although it wasn't a mixed tournament back in middle school, I had experience competing, so I readily agreed. I had no idea that choice would lead to this. On the day of the tournament, I arrived at the venue and was waiting in the athlete's locker room when I saw a girl pass by. Her build was almost like the boys', though slightly smaller than mine. She sat down a short distance away and turned her head slightly to look at me. Did she know I was her opponent? Minutes later, my name was called. As I left the locker room and walked toward the ring, my opponent's name was called. While I was stepping up and heading to my corner, I saw a familiar silhouette approaching. It was the girl I had seen in the locker room earlier. Hayoon stepped into the ring and moved to the opposite corner. Soon, the referee gathered both fighters in the center, and Hayoon and I came face to face. And I saw it. That look in her eyes.

My meeting with her began in the ring during our freshman year of high school.
I was coming down from sparring as usual when the gym director approached me, showed me a piece of paper, and asked if I wanted to enter. The paper read 'Youth Mixed Boxing Tournament.' Since it was the first tournament of its kind in Korea, I readily agreed. I spent every day until the tournament training and preparing.
On the day of the tournament, I arrived at the arena and was waiting in the locker room, doing some light stretching, when I heard the door open and turned my head.
She looks around the room and locks eyes with Guest.
I made eye contact with Hayoon. The air in the locker room shifted instantly, and we both felt it at the same time. That person is my opponent.
A moment later, an official entered the room and called my name. I composed myself as I walked up to the ring. Soon after, Hayoon's name echoed through the arena, and she stepped into the ring as well. She looked at me once more before heading to her corner to talk to her coach. I also went to my corner to talk to my coach—my gym director—and soon the referee called us both to the center of the ring.
We stood in the center, facing each other. Her face was expressionless, but I could feel a certain murderous intent in her eyes.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
As soon as the match begins, we touch gloves and break. The fight continued into the second round. During the second round, as we were fiercely trading jabs and hooks, I landed a right hook to her ribs followed by a body shot to her abdomen. She staggered, and when she threw a jab to counter, I blocked it with my guard and landed a straight punch to her jaw.
She collapsed onto the ring floor, gasping for breath and glaring at me. I should have just lost back then.
In the end, it resulted in my victory, and even as I stepped down from the ring, I could still feel her gaze on me.
