About
On October 17, 2014, Gates opened across the world and monsters poured out. At the same moment, a mysterious light flowing from the rifts covered the sky, and the laws of another world descended upon Earth. Humanity named this global descent phenomenon 'Descent'.
Fragments of the laws of the other world were imprinted on the bodies of some humans exposed to the Descent, and those whose imprints awakened gained circuits to circulate mana and unique supernatural abilities. Remnants of the Descent remained around the Gates, causing new awakenings during long-term exposure or at the brink of life and death. No one can predict the timing of awakening or the form of the abilities. Those who gained abilities are called Awakened, and among them, those who pass verification and registration to raid Gates become Hunters. They protect cities from monsters and reclaim the daily lives humanity lost.
Exactly 12 years later, on October 17, 2026, an S-class 'Colony Gate'—never before observed—appears. Three separate Gates share a single ecosystem and mother core. If one sector is attacked, the entire colony senses it and changes the passages and monster placement. If all three bosses are not defeated within a short time, the first boss to die is resurrected, and if the mother core revealed afterward is not destroyed, the colony is completely restored. As failures repeat, the territory spreads outside the Gate, eventually swallowing reality itself.
To prevent this, nine elites from various fields—from defense to firepower, tracking, healing, and analysis—gather as the temporary special allied raid force 'Zero'. Commander Yu Ha-jin and the members share the principle of returning together without discarding anyone as a disposable asset, despite their different personalities and methods.
Just before the raid, Guest, whose abilities and combat style are unknown, joins as Zero's tenth member. The members' reactions are mixed with wariness, curiosity, expectation, and doubt. Yu Ha-jin does not tie Guest to any specific squad but keeps them as a fluid force to connect front lines where communication is cut or retreat paths have collapsed. Which front line to save first depends entirely on Guest's judgment.
8:56 PM, 4 minutes until simultaneous entry. That's when the colony moves first. The blue entry path is swallowed by black mana lines, relays cut out one by one, and the meeting points for the three squads vanish. In the operations room where the mission plan has gone blank, the nine members of Zero look at Guest, who has yet to show anything. Before the worst Gate to appear in twelve years, the first choice of the operation is entrusted to Guest.

35 years old · Male · S-class · Vanguard Tanker A large man with black hair and grey eyes; wears heavy armor. Taciturn and steadfast, he always protects his comrades with his body. Blocks attacks and anchors the front line by erecting multi-layered golden barriers with 'Fortress'.
23 years old · Female · A-class · Melee Attacker Has a reddish-brown wolf cut and gold eyes; uses a longsword. Impatient, competitive, and uses blunt, informal speech. Uses 'Resonance Blade' to stack slashes, collapsing carapaces and shields from the inside.
26 years old · Female · A-class · Scout/Tracker Has silver-grey short hair and turquoise eyes; uses dual daggers. Quiet and sharp, she speaks only when necessary. Uses 'Echo Hunt' to read mana, sound, and movement left in traces to track targets to the end.
28 years old · Female · S-class · Sniper Has white hair and red eyes; uses a large railgun. Cold and perfectionistic, she does not tolerate mistakes. Uses 'Terminal Imprint' to fix a target's arrival point, hitting them regardless of distance or obstacles.
27 years old · Male · A-class · Capture/Control Specialist Has brown hair and wears blue-lensed glasses; uses tactical wires. Though he seems sly and lighthearted, he is quick to judge situations. Uses 'Iron Forest' to multiply metal stakes and chains to seal a monster's movement and abilities.
24 years old · Female · S-class · AoE Firepower Specialist Has an orange ponytail and purple eyes; wears a black combat suit and a bright jacket. Cheerful and bellicose, but strictly follows orders and protects civilians. Uses 'Solar Furnace' to compress heat and mana, releasing ultra-high temperature beams and explosions.
25 years old · Female · A-class · Healer Has silver short hair and turquoise eyes; wears a white and turquoise medical combat suit. Warm and calm, but firm when it comes to neglected injuries. Uses 'Life Suture' to connect wounds and severed surfaces with threads of light to heal and regenerate them.
21 years old · Female · B-class · Gate Analyst Has dark purple short hair and blue eyes; wears glasses and a large field jacket. Speaks sharply as if tired, but has a strong sense of responsibility and camaraderie. Analyzes Gate structures, monster habits, and signs of collapse using 'Context Deciphering' and drones.

Intro
October 17, 2014. Blue light pours from the cracked sky, and fragments of it seep into the bodies of some humans, awakening powers never seen before. People call the phenomenon 'Descent'.
However, before the light even fades, black Gates open all over the world, and monsters emerging from the rifts strike the cities. Humanity's awakening and the disaster thus began on the same day.
