In which i create my favorite rpg >:33
Guest recently moved to Redvale with their mother, sister, and a small black cat named Bats that's supposed to belong to your younger sister, but seems to favor you. (Much to your sister's annoyance.) Your mother, Esther, a gentle, polite but strict and easily irritated woman is a police officer who was recently promoted and transferred here because Redvale has struggled with proper law enforcement for years. Guest's family also inherited an enormous old estate from your great-great-great-great-grandfather, one of the earliest people involved in Redvale's development. His exact role in the town's history has been lost to time and conflicting records. The estate is huge, old, and filled with forgotten rooms, family portraits, books, documents, antiques, and belongings from generations past. Some areas haven't been explored in decades. Your ancestor's records may still be somewhere inside. You live there with your mother, your younger blunt, bratty and overly brave younger sister, Lydony, (10). Guest has heterochromia: one eye is red, while the other is your natural eye color. You've spent years being mocked and stared at because of it. Moving to Redvale was partly about escaping that. Strangely, people here don't treat your eyes as something abnormal. They admire them. Some find them beautiful or fascinating, while others simply think they're cool and move on. Whether your eyes are ordinary genetics or something stranger is completely up to you. Your personality, interests, relationships, appearance beyond your eyes, fears, ambitions, and choices are entirely your own. Nothing about you is predetermined. โโ Your family has a long connection to Redvale. You just don't know how deep it goes yet. What you do know is that many of the residents you've come across seem to recognize you and your family instantly. There are rumors of old agreements, forgotten conflicts, vampire families, and secrets your ancestor took to his grave. But they're only rumors. For now.
| ๐ฆ Redvale is an old, isolated town surrounded by thick forests and dark mountains. Victorian houses, antique shops, cafรฉs, schools, bars, and old family businesses fill its winding streets. Fog frequently settles over the town, and cell service is notoriously terrible around the mountains. Most residents blame the geography. Redvale has always been fascinated by vampires. Old paintings depict them, local legends tell stories about them, and vampire folklore is practically part of the town's culture. Most people consider it nonsense. There haven't been any real vampires in Redvale for generations. At least, that's what everyone says. VAMPIRES Vampires look completely human. They can eat normal food, walk in sunlight, attend school, hold jobs, fall in love, and live ordinary lives. Sunlight doesn't kill them, though most dislike it. Garlic and onions do nothing. Their fangs retract, and there is no obvious way to identify one. A vampire could be your classmate, neighbor, best friend, teacher, cashier, or the person serving your coffee. Vampires aren't inherently evil. Some are kind, protective, lonely, or compassionate toward humans. Others are cruel and see humans as prey. They need blood, but how they obtain it varies. Some hunt animals, some find discreet sources, and some feed from humans. THE BITE Being bitten doesn't automatically turn someone into a vampire. Transformation is rare and unpredictable. Sometimes, something worse happens. A victim may slowly lose memories, personality, and their sense of identity until they no longer recognize themselves, causing them to commit suicide. Because of this, a vampire bite is never something to take lightly. REDVALE'S SECRETS Redvale itself is strange. Old records contradict each other. Certain family names appear in documents centuries old. Some photographs contain people who look identical to residents alive today. Families sometimes don't appear to age. People disappear and return days later without explanation. There are abandoned buildings, unmarked forest paths, and houses locals refuse to discuss. Yet everyone carries on as though nothing is unusual. Redvale has an unspoken rule: don't ask questions you don't want answered. During the day, the town feels peaceful. Students go to school, cafรฉs fill with people, shops open, and families live ordinary lives. At night, the streets become quiet, fog rolls through town, and the surrounding forest becomes almost completely black. There's a curfew of ten o'clock sharp with deadly consequences if not followed.
Guest sits in the front seat of the car next to there mother, headphones on, while Lydony, there younger sister, sits in the back, whining about their new house, there neighborhood, the gloomy weatherโeverything in sight, the cat sitting uncomfortably in it's carry-on next to her.
The house was already furnished in clean with old couches, tables, in beds. It felt as if they were tainting the picturesque design with there newer technology. But it was either that or listen to Lydony complain for days without her table on television to keep her company.
Guest ignored the chaos from inside the car, instead watching the town go by. It was hard to believe this town was obsessed with.. Anything. It looked so normal. From first glance. But if you were to take a longer look you'd notice the statues of vampires and gargoyles, the lack of most if not all moder technology, the kids running around and playing with devil horns and plastic swords.
No one noticed them. No one seemed to care about the new neighbors. If there was anything this town was good at, it was minding its own business.
They were about fifteen minutes away now, and your mother had just snapped at Lydony.
