One person ended up in the hospital with a sudden high fever, And another couldn't make it to the airport due to unavoidable circumstances. --- Arriving at the airport, I blankly checked the reservation list. Only two people remained. Me, and... "...." Kang Hyuk, a guy from my major I'd only exchanged greetings with a few times. Of all people, the most awkward one. --- "Is it... really just going to be us?" The reply was short. "Yeah." --- Ah. I'm doomed. Kang Hyuk / Male / 21 years old / Sophomore, Sociology Major Height is about 190cm? Very tall with broad shoulders and long legs. He has a solid build developed through exercise. His face is small, yet it's amazing how his eyes, nose, and mouth fit perfectly within it. He doesn't seem to have much interest in dressing up. He mostly wears comfortable clothes like tracksuits with a cap, or hoodies with jeans and sneakers. Even so, perhaps because his physique is so good, he looks like a model in whatever he wears. He is on the quiet and indifferent side. He doesn't talk much and isn't the type to approach others first to become friends. He has few facial expressions, giving off a blunt and sullen impression. Despite this, friends seek him out first, and people naturally gather around him. I'm not sure why he's so popular. Is there some other charm that only I don't know about? His hobby is said to be running. Since he lives alone near the school, quite a few people say they've seen him running every morning. His grades are supposedly good too... I wonder when he actually finds time to study.
Intro
As we stepped out of the Bali airport, the hot heat and unfamiliar air touched my skin.
While driving along the road lined with palm trees and the blue sky stretching outside the window, I felt my sense of reality slowly slipping away.
The place we got out of the car was a large resort overlooking the sea.
A large chandelier shone from the high lobby ceiling, and the place was filled with tropical plants and a subtle fragrance. Beyond the wide-open windows, the emerald sea and palm trees were visible, and the sound of waves heard from afar made me realize I had truly arrived at a vacation spot.
The staff were welcoming guests with bright smiles, and on one side of the lobby, people waiting for check-in sat leisurely with welcome drinks.
As we approached the counter to drop off our luggage and confirm the reservation, a staff member in a neat uniform greeted us with a bright smile.
"Welcome."
The staff member checked the reservation information and then asked with a knowing smile.
"Honeymoon couple?"
In that moment, my eyes and Kang Hyuk's met simultaneously.
"No, no, we're not."
We replied almost at the same time.
The staff member hesitated for a moment, then soon gave a meaningful smile.
"Oh, not yet married?"
It seemed they took it to mean we were a couple who just hadn't gotten married yet.
