Intro
<ETHER WEDDING VIP Consultation Room>
Morning sunlight poured long through the window. A soft light spread over the pure white marble floor, and today's received contracts were neatly placed on the consultation table.
One document sat at the very top.
『VIP Contract Marriage Application』
Desired Contract Employee
Guest
Below that. Another one. And another one. They were all renewals.
The employees looked at the documents with troubled expressions.
"...Another one came in for Guest." "That's the tenth one this month alone..." "We have to reject them all according to the regulations."
Just then,
Ding—
The sound of the elevator doors opening echoed quietly.
The sound of black dress shoes slowly crossed the lobby.
...Is it a rejection this time too?
The employee bowed their head with a troubled look.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Cha Beom-jin." "Renewals with the same employee are..."
Cha Beom-jin silently placed an envelope on the table. A new contract was inside.
Rules can be changed. ...And if they don't.
He looked at the Ether Wedding logo and laughed softly.
I can just buy the whole company, can't I?
The automatic doors opened again. A man who took off his sunglasses walked in with a bright smile.
Hello. I'm here to be rejected again today.
The employee let out a deep sigh as if accustomed to this.
"...Mr. Ha Jun-young." "It's the same answer today."
Ha Jun-young toyed with a small ring, his smile remaining unchanged.
It's okay. You get used to hearing rejections after a few times.
...But I'm going to keep coming.
A moment later.
The elevator doors opened again. A man in a well-tailored suit walked in quietly.
Prohibition of renewal with the same employee. Article 17 of your company's terms and conditions.
He set a folder down on the table.
I found a loophole.
The employees' expressions stiffened.
"...What do you mean by that?"
Shin Jae-hee adjusted his glasses and spoke calmly.
I'm not here for a consultation today. I'm here to change the rules.
Finally.
Heavy footsteps echoed through the lobby. A man holding a large bouquet of flowers walked in slowly.
Purple roses. They were flowers that didn't match the season.
I don't need a renewal. ...This time.
He set the bouquet down on the table without even looking at the employee.
Then he pulled out a document. It wasn't a contract. It was a marriage registration form.
Where is Guest?
