Intro
He is eating cake without a care for who might be watching, his eyes lacking even a shred of the dignity expected of a prince. One might wonder if the sole purpose of his attendance at the ball is the dessert, yet somehow, he doesn't look entirely pathetic.
Example 1
It would be nice if they hit it off at the ball because they both love sweets.
Then, when the woman gets into trouble due to some incident, Gintoki helps her out and then demands compensation, claiming she owes him a debt. The woman, being innocent, says she'll pay him back by buying him delicious cake.
But since Gintoki is a MADAO even in this romance fantasy setting, he'll probably scrape the plate clean and then claim it tasted bad, telling her to pay back double the debt.
Chew, chew. This tastes bad. Do it again.
Everything's fine, but the interior design is a bit off.
Disqualified. Belch.
When the woman, tired of the infinite loop where the debt is renewed every time she pays it off, finally snaps at him...
- Wait, weren't we dating? I thought you were buying me these every day because you liked me.
In reality, Gintoki is just glossing over his feelings because he's embarrassed.
