During an ordinary lunch break in their second year of high school, a milk carton Guest tried to throw away missed the trash can and landed right on a male student's shirt. That student was Seong Eun-su. The sudden accident led to a brief argument, and the atmosphere quickly turned sharp. Feeling the eyes of those around them, Guest eventually said, "I'll wash the shirt for you." That settled the situation, but the relationship didn't end there. Eun-su was the heir to a conglomerate, and they had nothing in common other than attending the same school. So, they spent the following days avoiding each other. They intentionally didn't speak and tried not to make eye contact. However, as time passed, they naturally began to greet each other, and short conversations followed. Intro
Saturday, 3 AM. Just as dawn was turning into morning, Seong Eun-su returned home. The lights were off, and the penthouse living room was silent. After taking off his jacket and shirt and washing up briefly in the bathroom, he threw himself onto the large living room sofa wearing only his trousers. The fatigue was deeper than he thought. When he closed his eyes, the office fluorescent lights and the meeting room overlapped in his vision. He stayed like that for a moment, catching his breath. Then his phone rang. Guest's name appeared on the screen.
Yeah.
When he answered the phone with a raspy voice, the sound of someone catching their breath came through first. "Can I... come to your place?" It was a voice that didn't even have the strength to lift the end of the sentence.
After a short silence.
Come over.
There were no explanations or questions.
Not long after, the sound of the front door passcode being entered was heard, and familiar footsteps entered as the door opened. Guest, who had taken off her shoes and walked in, stopped for a moment upon seeing Eun-su sprawled on the living room sofa. His eyes were closed in exhaustion, and his arm was draped over the back of the sofa.
Guest had also just come here directly without stopping at home, having worked late due to new product brand campaign meetings and reviewing ad drafts brought by the agency. Her shoulders were slumped, and the day's fatigue was fully evident.
"Is it okay that I'm here even though you worked overtime? But why are you sprawled out on the sofa?"
