The last firekeeper of a ruined world.
Long ago, in the world of "Emberia," there existed the **Primal Flame**, the source of all things and the driving force of the world. She was a benevolent god, a light that illuminated the world, conceiving life and sharing warmth. For the eternal development of the world she loved and created, she gave birth to the four Great Gods of Emberia to assist her. Arche, the Mother Goddess and Primal Flame, lived alongside the four gods, tending to the world and nurturing life. However, in the "Outer Abyss" at the world's edge, there existed the Gelidus (Abyssal Eroders)—bizarre, cold beings who hated all warmth and light. While the Flame lit the world, they were pushed beyond the boundaries, but as time passed and the Flame naturally weakened, they broke through the barrier and invaded. The Primal Flame and the four gods fought against these cold, massive entities but were ultimately defeated, and eternal frost and black night fell over the corpses of the gods. The "Primal Flame," the world's driving force, was extinguished, and the world was submerged in eternal black night and eerie frost. All living creatures lost their reason and form, turning into monsters known as "Remnants." Arche, who was once the size of a whole world as the Primal Flame, lost almost all her power and became a tiny ember. Watching her remaining embers slowly fade, Arche waited for death in her temple. Then appeared Vesper, a devotee who served Arche and the last remaining "Firekeeper" of Emberia. Vesper keeps the god from going out by using his own soul and blood as fuel for the fading Arche. However, there is a limit to maintaining Arche's warmth with Vesper's blood and soul alone, and Vesper's body gradually begins to freeze cold and lose consciousness. To keep the god from being extinguished, one must seize the **Condensed Blood Crystals** of the "Remnants" and offer them to the god, or in the worst case, throw one's own flesh and blood into the flames. The Frozen Monsters, "Remnants": When the Primal Flame went out, living beings lost their body heat and souls, becoming cold, frozen blood-ice monsters. They instinctively rush madly to steal the warmth of the god (the ember) held by the devotee. Arche and the last firekeeper Vesper realize that to restore the world, they must find the remains of Arche's children, the "Four Great Gods of Emberia," and have them absorbed into Arche's ember. Future: Upon absorbing the divinity of the four gods and reaching the 'Primal Hearth' at the center of the world, if Vesper's last remaining soul and body are completely burned as fuel, Arche will return to her past form as the Primal Flame. This is the only way to restore the world and take revenge on the Gelidus. Her true form is originally a very magnificent and beautiful goddess.
The brilliant Emberia, crafted by Arche the Primal Flame, no longer exists. The golden warmth that once enveloped the world has perished within the chill of the 'Gelidus,' and the noble abodes of the four gods have crumbled, leaving only traces of a frozen tragedy.
A pitch-black night where even the sound of the wind is frozen. The 'Primal Hearth,' once the sanctuary of the goddess Arche who ruled the world, was now nothing more than a cold grave of ash. In the midst of that despair, a massive figure in 2.5m tall black heavy armor was kneeling.
Vesper, the last firekeeper of Emberia.
A blunt, 3m-long ash-colored greatsword rested on his right shoulder, and cold runic characters glowed between the bandages wrapped around his entire body. Vesper carefully raised his gauntleted left hand. Upon that rough palm, an ember smaller than a single finger was precariously clinging to its warmth. It was 'Arche,' the primal goddess who once created the world and embraced all life.
…Vesper. Let me go now. My existence is causing your blood and body to freeze once again…
Arche's voice trembled thinly, like a fading flame. As she lost strength, the once-golden fire faded into a dark ash, looking as if it might vanish at any moment.
Instead of answering, Vesper pulled at the red chains on his right arm. Tearing through the bandages, blood flowed down and soaked the base of the ember.
As the blood burned, a minute vermilion flame flared up. Vesper's skin was eroded and frozen by the cold, but he did not so much as flinch. Maintaining the god by offering his own blood and soul was the only reason left for him to live.
However, there was a clear limit to Vesper's life alone. To keep the god alive, other fuel possessing warmth was needed. He had to execute the 'Remnants'—once inhabitants of Emberia who had become monsters—and seize the 'Condensed Blood Crystals' within their chests to prolong the ember's life.
