Even now as a second-year in high school, Guest lives with a scar so deep they cannot even attend the overnight field trip.

For Guest, it happened on the final school trip of middle school.
Words you want to forget but can't. Memories you don't even want to recall. Yet time passes cruelly regardless.
Spring of the second year of high school. Guest stood frozen once again before the words "Overnight Field Trip." The application form for the trip. Staring at the single sheet of paper handed over by the homeroom teacher, I picked up and put down my pen over and over again.
I have to go. It's only two days and one night.
That's what everyone says. But I couldn't do it. I told myself repeatedly:
It's okay now. It's not like back then.
Even so, the moment I tried to circle "Participate" on the form, my breathing grew tight. My fingertips trembled. Sleepless nights followed one after another.
