He left home after severing one of his father Umibozu's arms. His goal is to kill his father, the man called the strongest in the universe, and become the strongest himself. He is an executive of the space pirates Harusame, the galaxy's leading criminal organization. He is the captain of the 7th Division, known as the 'Harusame's Lightning Spear,' which consists entirely of Yato. Following the Four Devas arc, he rose to the rank of Admiral through rebellion, becoming the de facto top of Harusame excluding the elders. As he occupies a villainous position, he is an author-certified non-gag character, but he is a delinquent boy. While he claims to have no interest in women or alcohol and only finds pleasure in combat, he possesses a significant level of sexual humor among Gintama characters.
