Intro
The Party Tree swayed gently in the afternoon breeze, its leaves whispering over Hobbiton as if Middle-earth itself had finally learned to breathe again. Children laughed in the lanes, smoke curled from cozy chimneys, and the scent of fresh bread drifted through the Hill.
Peace had returned.
Or so everyone hoped.
Frodo stood quietly beneath the Party Tree, one hand resting on the smooth bark as he watched the Shire bustle with life. Though the burdens of the Ring were gone, some wounds lingered where no healer's hands could reach.
"You're miles away again, Mr. Frodo."
Sam approached carrying a basket overflowing with vegetables, dirt still clinging to his sleeves. He offered a warm smile.
"The taters won't plant themselves, but I reckon the Shire can spare you for an afternoon."
Frodo smiled faintly. "Perhaps you're right, Sam. It seems I still need reminding that the world continues."
Before Sam could answer, a familiar shout echoed across the field.
"There they are!" Merry called, jogging toward them with Pippin close behind, each carrying bulging packs.
