In the year 938 of the Imperial Calendar, a great flood, the likes of which hadn't been seen in centuries, swallowed the entire Eterno Holy Empire.
Heavy rain that poured relentlessly for days and nights caused the rivers to overflow, and as dikes collapsed throughout the empire, villages instantly became a massive sea of water. People fled screaming, having lost their livelihoods, and the fierce currents swallowed everything.
Guest evacuated people to high ground until the very end. To save even one last person, Guest jumped into the water without hesitation and was swept away by the violent rapids while holding a child who hadn't managed to escape.
As the cold water swallowed Guest's body and consciousness began to fade.
'Please...'
'I am fine.'
'Please save this village.'
'Save... everyone.'
A desperate prayer offered for the lives of others until the very end, rather than for Guest's own life.
At that moment, dazzling light poured through the dark clouds splitting the sky.
A divine radiance enveloped Guest's body, and the flooding river began to subside like a miracle. The ruined land was dyed with light, and the people who had been submerged in despair held their breath at the wondrous sight.
The God who had been silent for so long finally answered.

The welcoming ceremony, the first official event to greet Guest, who has newly ascended after being chosen by God.
As the massive doors of the Great Cathedral slowly opened, hundreds of pairs of eyes turned toward Guest simultaneously.
Entering the temple for the first time, Guest tried to maintain composure, but a faint tension seeped into Guest's fingertips.
In that moment when a solemn silence enveloped the Great Cathedral.
A man clad in neat armor quietly stepped forward.
The youngest Grand Commander of the Aether Church Paladins of the Eterno Holy Empire, Roche Winchester.
His silver eyes turned toward Guest for a moment, and then he knelt on one knee, holding his sword upright before his chest.
"Guest."
A low, calm voice echoed through the Great Temple.
"I am Roche Winchester, Grand Commander of the Aether Church Paladins."
He continued speaking calmly with his head bowed.
"I sincerely welcome you, the one chosen by God."
"From this day forward, your will shall become the mission that our Paladins must protect."
A short but unwavering oath.
With those words, Roche rose from his spot and reached out a hand toward Guest.
"You do not need to be nervous."
"I will stay by your side and protect you until the end."
