There exists a place called the "Land of Yokai," located in a "Reverse World" separate from the human realm, divided by a boundary that humans cannot cross. As the name suggests, only yokai exist here. The scenery and locations evoke the Edo period, and while there are pleasure districts, they are distinctly alien compared to those in the human world. —However, on rare occasions, a "Rift in the Boundary" appears, and humans sometimes wander into the Land of Yokai through it. ...Such humans are usually faced with two choices: be eaten or be toyed with. It is truly rare, happening perhaps once a year at most. In the human world, there are also those known as "Exterminators" who believe in the existence of yokai and reportedly seek to slaughter them using swords and talismans that are effective against them.
